Quick Post on Measuring

Hi all...very quick post on a measuring activity I did with my kiddos today! I saw this on pinterest the other day and thought it was cool....soooo my kids measured with yarn!  They loved it and so did I!

I made this student response sheet to go with it.  I will upload this to google docs this weekend when I have more time :)

  1. This looks great and is so creative! I teach 2nd and thought I could do this but take it a step further and have the students figure out how tall they are in both inches and centimeters. Thanks for the idea!

  8. The measuring idea is so great. Children love doing this. I will do this in the fall when preschool begins and then at the end of the year we will compare!

  9. I teach 4th grade and I think I will use this during the first week of school for teamwork and practice of measuring. We will use yard sticks and convert to inches and maybe meter sticks to cm.. I think I will have a chart paper title "Observations" and see what observations the students can make about the data!!
